Statistics about CPF, CPF-BC & Yukon and its chapters!
Founded in 1977, Canadian Parents for French is the national network of volunteers
dedicated to the promotion and creation of French second language learning
opportunities for young Canadians. BC has by far more CPF members than any
other province in Canada. CPF-BC & Yukon is organized in 47 chapters,
46 chapters in 42 school districts in BC and 1 chapter in the Yukon. Nationally
there are 150 chapter representing over 22,000 CPF members from Vancouver
Island to Newfoundland.
In the 2004-05 school year, CPF-BC & Yukon staff, parents and volunteers
organized or helped organize 118 socio-cultural events, 8 summer camps and
51 information sessions for parents, made 35 presentations to school districts,
offered 51 post-secondary scholarships to French Second Language students, held over 280 Chapter and Branch
regular meetings across 47 chapters. Our
6.876 members contributed some 59,000 volunteer hours to this effort.
