Welcome to the Canadian Parents for French - British Columbia & Yukon (referred to herein as "CPF-BC & Yukon") Internet Site. CPF-BC & Yukon is committed to the ethical collection, retention and use of information that you provide to us about yourself ("Personal Information") on these websites www.cpf.bc.ca and www.forum.cpf.bc.ca ("Sites").

PRIVACY POLICY

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

CPF-BC & Yukon will identify and document the purpose for which it collects, uses or discloses Personal Information at or before the time the information is collected.

CPF-BC & Yukon does not collect personally identifiable information about you, except when you provide it to us. For example, if you complete a registration form, you may be asked to provide certain information. The information you supply will be used to provide you with the requested information and/or service.

CPF-BC & Yukon collects the following personal information from its members and others on these Sites in the "Concours d'art oratoire Student Registration" pages, "Comment Corner" pages, "Chapter Volunteer Contributions" pages and the Discussion Forum pages. CPF-BC & Yukon collects no personal information about you unless you choose to provide that information to us on the Comment Corner and Chapter Volunteer Contributions pages. The student registration information is used for the Concours d'art oratoire competition and program, verifying categories and grades.

Your Personal Information may be comprised of the following:

1. your name
2. your grade and Concours category
3. your school, school district and their CPF membership number
4. your email and mailing address
5. your telephone number
6. your occupation, location and interests
7. your teacher and their email address
8. Any other data as CPF may require for Concours registration or Discussion Forum registration

This information is submitted directly to the CPF-BC & Yukon database for Concours d'art oratoire registration and Chapter Volunteer Contribution information, the Comment Corner information is submitted via email. Your Discussion Forum registration information is kept in its database.

We do not sell, rent, or give-away your personal information to any third parties.

SITE BROWSING

You browse these Sites anonymously. We do not require you to identify yourself or reveal any Personal Information while browsing through these Sites. However, you may not be able to access certain sections of these Sites or interact with us without supplying us with Personal Information. If you desire to register yourself at these Sites, you would be required to provide your Personal Information.

While you are browsing through these Sites, the Site's operating system may automatically record some general information ("General Information") about your visit such as:

1. the date and time you visit the Site, along with the address of the previous site your were visiting, if you linked to us from another site

The General Information is not Personal Information. CPF-BC & Yukon tracking system does not record personal information about individuals or link this information to any Personal Information collected from you.

The General Information is used by CPF-BC & Yukon for statistical analysis, for tracking overall traffic patterns on these Sites, to gauge the public interest in CPF-BC & Yukon and these Sites and to help us make our site more useful to visitors. Such General Information may be shared or disclosed by CPF-BC & Yukon with any person, at our discretion.

We will place a temporary or "session" "cookie" on your computer's hard drive only during Concours d'art oratoire Student Registration so we can personalize your experience. A cookie is a piece of data that enables us to track and target your selections. The cookie will be stored on your computer's hard drive and will expire when you complete the registration process or are inactive for a period of time. If you reject our cookies, you may still use our Site, but you will be limited in the use of some of the features such as Concours d'art oratoire Student registration.

Within CPF-BC & Yukon, access to Personal Information collected by CPF-BC & Yukon will be given only to those persons who are authorized by CPF-BC & Yukon and third parties hired by CPF-BC & Yukon to perform administrative services. CPF-BC & Yukon will retain ownership rights over such information and will share only such portions of the Personal Information as it deems fit.

CPF-BC & Yukon is not liable in any manner whatsoever for the loss, damage(whether direct, indirect, consequential or incidental) or harm caused to you by the misuse of your Personal Information by a third party who is not an employee of CPF-BC & Yukon.
