Students from ages 5 to 16 have an outstanding chance to have fun, be involved in challenging events, and sharpen their French skills. Kamloops French Language Sport Camps The 2012 Summer French Language Sports Camps will be held the weeks of:
These amazing French language sport camps are organized by CPF – Kamloops with support by Heritage Canada and Thompson Rivers University Sports Department. Camps are located on the Thompson Rivers University campus in Kamloops. Camps are for children ages 6 to 12; for children going into grades 1 to 8. Each week there will be a junior and a senior camp; this allows the older and younger children to be with children of similar interest levels and abilities. These are multi-sport camps including activities such as; gymnastics, swimming, basketball, soccer, baseball, ball hockey, co-operative games, rock wall climbing. Each child will receive a hat and shirt for the camp. The camps run one week each, with no half days. These are day camps only, not overnight camps. The camps run 9 am to 4 pm with free early drop off from 8 am and late pick up to 5 pm.Children must be in French Immersion, go to the Francophone school, or speak French. Pricing for this year: $230 for non - CPF members $210 for CPF members $10 discount each for second and more children in same family (same week) Families who are not yet members of CPF will receive a full CPF family membership with their camp fee. Coquitlam Camp Maillardvill: French Summer Camp French day camp where students spend the day speaking and playing in French. They have different activities each week with a different field trip every Friday. Students between the ages of 6 to 12, get to have fun and practice their conversational French. A partnership with the francophone society of Maillardville. The camp will take place July 4th to August 26th, 2011, 8am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. At Banting Middle School, 820 Banting street, Coquitlam. The camp costs $125 weekly / $25 daily, Monday to Thursday with an administration fee (non-refundable) of $25. *Family rebates will apply if more than one child. "Dans la foret..." July 4 to 29, 2011 A summer day program, nature based French immersion, with creative arts focus. Children will spend afternoons singing in the forest, exploring their environment with a playful, creative French speaker/elementary-highschool teacher. L'ete au parc, Survivor camp, Petite l'été au parc, Summer French Fun Summer day programs start with children entering kindergarten and Gr.1. Leaders focus on speaking French but English is also spoken. The second camp is for those fluent Gr.2-5 only French is spoken and all participants are encouraged to speak French as well. Our survivor camp is for students entering our late immersion program. French and English are spoken and participants are introduced to the French language in a fun relaxed environment, preparing them for the start of the school year. France's Sewing School - Bilingual summer sewing camps in July Lord Tennyson Elementary school French Immersion Summer School Summer camps in French : violin and choir Summer French Drama Classes/French Garden Plays They will find pleasure in learning FRENCH while enjoying the creative process of putting together a short nature play, through improvisation and various other Theatre techniques. This process stimulates memory, imagination and builds creative skills. Numerous artistic plus natural science and language / movement activities will be combined to build this unique theatre production (examples: painting, singing, puppet work, sewing, mime, mask work, creative movement, etc). French will be spoken, and written. Hearing the French language and practicing it will build on each student existing skills with combinations of proficiency. Each class will culminate in a theatrical production for family and friends. It is a fun filled week class, full of surprises and activities that your child will want to repeat, yet it is one of a kind experience. One that helps them enjoy learning more about nature, theatre production (acting, mime, set and costume design and construction, mask / puppet work) and builds on their FRENCH abilities. You are invited to attend their FRENCH GARDEN PLAY, which will be presented on the FRIDAY AFTERNOON of their week.
