Canadian Parents for French Burnaby and Burnaby Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services are proud to sponsor five weeks of French Camps for Children aged 6 -14. Students practice their French while enjoying all the fun of summer camp! Arts and crafts, games and all activities are offered in a French-speaking environment. All instruction is in French so your child must be in French Immersion or a Francophone program. Cost for these camps $165.00 for a week long course, and $140.00 for the 4 day course. This creative arts and crafts camp introduces students to different flags of the world where French is the primary language. They will create art that parallels different French cultures! Ages 6-10.

Week 2: July 12 – 16, 2010
Inspector Clouseau and the case of the Eagle Eye! Jr. Detective Camp! (copyright K. Matak)
During this exciting one week program students will develop an “eagle eye” - the special qualities a private investigator brings to her job. Students will have an opportunity to use tools such as magnifying glass, cameras, binoculars, and such. They will learn to investigate the world around us. They will learn what questions to ask, how to collect and organize data, and what the data means. They will be able to put their crime solving abilities to the test in this camp. During the week they will learn to lift fingerprints, solve who-done-its, and learn secrets of the trade. Campers will investigate toys, start their genealogical family tree, and learn how to build an investigators survival fanny pack. Lots of fun for all. Students will be asked to keep daily notebook that will become their investigators journal at the end of the course. Ages 8-11.

A La Plage!
Welcome to the world of the beach – the sun, the ocean, the rocks and the animal life. Campers will enjoy this fun loving camp where they learn about the different aspects of beach life! Each camper will have a chance to paint their own beach “rock”. Ages 6-11.

Week 3: July 19 - 23, 2010
Mentorship Program
Senior campers have fun and learn skills that involve being a mentor, peer counselling, leadership, and communication skills. This is a great course for students that want to enhance their personal development. Ages 12–14.

Week 4: July 26 – 30, 2010
Au Theatre!
What a great week for all drama lovers. Campers will learn all about the Theater from behind the scenes to acting. Shakespeare in French! The week will culminate in a small play that the students will put on for the parents. Parents are asked to attend the camp one hour earlier on the last day for the performance! Ages 8-11.

Week 4: July 26 – 30, 2010
Around the World in French!
Campers will have an exciting tour around the world to all the French speaking cultures. Music, dance, food will be explored ! An active fun week full of learning and exploring! Ages 6–10.

Week 5: August 3 - 6, 2010
Mon aimee – le foret!
Have you ever met a tree? This 4 day program introduces campers to the wonderful tree heritage of BC. A wonderful naturalist program that involves learning about our forest and what makes it thrive! Ages 6-11.

Caribbean Adventure
Do you want to spend a week being a pirate and sailing the high seas? Come join the Caribbean adventure! Learn about the history of pirates , their ships, and their legacies. Children are encouraged to come dressed as pirates to camp! The movie Pirates of the Caribbean will be shown in French! Ages 6 – 10!

Camp Bonne Semaine
French Immersion students Entering Grades 1 – 6

Camp Bonne Semaine, co-sponsored by Canadian Parents for French Delta Chapter and Delta Continuing Education, is a French speaking day camp designed to immerse students in a French environment outside of the classroom. Under the leadership of Delta French Immersion teacher Tonia Knight students will engage in a variety of artistic, physical, hands-on, educational fun activities sure to reinforce and expand French language skills. Camp Bonne Semaine will act as a great refresher for the new school year. (Families who are current members of the CPF Delta Chapter will be given a $20 course rebate upon completion of the camp. Kamloops
The Thompson Rivers University / Canadian Parents for French - Summer French Language Sports Camps will be the weeks of July 6-10 and July 13-17.

Camps will be located on the TRU campus in Kamloops, with pick up and drop off at the TRU gymnasium. We will have a camp each week for children aged 7 to 8, going into grades 2 and 3. Plus, we will have a separate camp each week for children aged 9 - 11, going into grades 4, 5, 6. These are multi-sport camps including activities such as; gymnastics, swimming, basketball, soccer, baseball, ball hockey, co-operative games. Each child will receive a hat and shirt for the camp.

The camps run one week each, with no half days. These are day camps only, not overnight camps. The camps run 9 am to 4 pm with early drop off from 8 am and late pick up by 5 pm, at no extra charge. Children must be in French Immersion, go to the Francophone school, or speak fluent French.

Pricing for this year: $199 for non - CPF members, Families who are not yet members of CPF will receive a full CPF family membership when they pay full price for a camp. $180 for CPF members (10% discount) $165 for second or more children from the same family, in camp the same week, whether they are CPF members or not. Camp Bons Jeux is a French speaking summer day camp designed to immerse students in a French environment outside of the classroom. With the guidance of French speaking monitors, the camp provides its participants with a springboard into the French language while engaging them in interactive, hands-on, artistic, creative, physical and fun activities. Camp Bons Jeux strives to offer students exposure to new French vocabulary through real-life experiences and activities that they may not otherwise have access to in the classroom.

Williams Lake
From August 11-14 Le camp francophone du Cariboo will take place at Gavin Lake (vicinity of Williams Lake and 100 Mile House) for early and late French immersion students, and core French students in grades 3-7.
